The schoolroom was packed with parent* and their children and visitors from round about, and the programme submit- ' ted was much appreciated. Mr. J. Brows officiated as chairman, and his remarks were brief and to the point. . I should like to specially mention that the giving of a prize for singing by boys is a stei> in the right direction, and I hope other committees will note the fact. It was rather a set-back tonote.'in a report anent the New Plymouth High School football team that they could not take part in entartainments on account of not having training, and the Norfolk Committee lire to be commended, and the boys, Masters John Grylls,'and Percy who received the prizes, should be encouraged to persevere. The items contributed by the children ' at the entertainment were excellent, and the adults who contributed to the evening's enjoyment were heartily thanked by the chairman for their help. Many of the items deserve special mention, but I'm afraid I've overstepped my allowance already, and the children deserve this little bit once a year. The programme was as under:—Piano duet, Misses Laurence and Marshall; song, pupils; song, Mr. L.
