FIRE IN A FOUNDRY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christehurch, December 22. At about 3.40 this afternoon the fire brigade received a call to Messrs. Booth, M'Donald and Co.'s engineering works, at Sydenham. The fire was conlined to the moulding and pattern shops, which formed part of the old building. The fire at one time looked likely to involve the greater part of the works, but the brigade was very promptly at work, and the outbreak was localised. The damage done was not very extensive. The buil'ding was insured for £4OO in the Sun Office, and the contents for £9OO. Mr. Booth estimates the damage at approximately £IOOO. If your property is not insured call at or ring up the United Insurance Company, Ltd., Devon street; telephone 198, Webster Bros., district agents. Insurance effected on the most favourable terms.—Advt.
