THE PEACE CONFERENCE. (Received Dec. 23, 2 a.m.) London, December 22. The King gave an audience to the peace delegates for half an hour. The peace conference sat for two hours. The Turks are prepared to negotiate with the Greeks, but as a preliminary, on humanitarian grounds, ask to be allowed to re-vktual Adrianople and other beseiged towns. The allies replied that that question had previously been settled at Chataldja, and was outside the scope of the present conference. The Turks replied that they must refer the matter to the Porte. The Daily Chronicle's Cettinje correspondent reports that there is an agitation to dethrone King Nicholas because the Montenegrins lacked success compared with the Servian triumphs. To restore his popularity King Nicholas assumed command of Skutari. During the two months he had command the Turks were enabled to improve their position, while the Montenegrin army was reduced. The country generally was in a deplorable condition.
