MEXICO.
AN AMERICAN ULTIMATUM.
By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Washington, December 20. President Taft has despatched another ultimatum to Mexico, warning President Madero of the danger in not protecting Americans. It is recognised, according to the State Department, that the time for intervention has come. MEXICAN RESENTMENT. MASSACRED INDIANS. Received 22, 5.5 p.m. Mexico City, December 21. The Government's reply to the United States representations is full of resentment against Mr. Knox's charges of illtreatment of Americans, alleging that in many cases the Americans themselves were blameworthy. The ultimatum is now being prepared. The Yaqui Indians massacred thousands at San Marchial, Sonora State, in the American quarter outside the town and escaped. The Yaquis did not show quarter, butchering everybody.
