At the Marconi inquiry Mr. Norman urged delay for a few months with the view of consulting independent experts to ensure the adoption of the best system. He considered that the continuous wave system would ultimately supersede the spark. The Poulsen and Goldschmidt systems were much simpler than the Marconi, and were less liable to jambiii'.-. Several other apparently improve,: systems were likely shortly to be practically tested. The Chairman rtad Sir George Reid's letter stating that the Commonwealth system, which was able to communicate with Singapore, was on the spark principle. The committee adjourned till January 1.
