The South Melbourne cricket team, which is to play a series of matches in New Zealand, had a civic reception presided over by the Mayor, who extended a hearty welcome. Mr. McCormack, manager of the team, said the team was a strong one, He hoped the tour would be a success. The team left by the express last night for Masterton, where they play the first match.
