The treasurer of the New South Wales Cricket Association, in his report, foreshadows an estimated loss of £l3O on the New Zealand tour. CRICKET ASSOCIATION'S OFFER. Sydney, December 17. The Cricket Association decided to inform the New Zealand Association that it was prepared to send a team provided that New Zealand would pay not more than £(io towards'tips and incidental expenses. The team would consist of thirteen players and a manager, and would depart on February 15. THE SOUTH MELBOURNE TEAM. By Telegraph—Fress Association. Auckland, Tuesday. The South Melbourne cricket team, which is to play a series of matches in New Zealand, had a civic reception presided over by the Mayor, who extended a hearty welcome. Mr. McCormack, manager of the team, said the team was a strong one, He hoped the tour would be a success. The team left by the express last night for Masterton, where they play the first match.
