AN ENORMOUS EXPORT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Nignt. , A train more than half a mile long would be necessary to carry the record shipment of butter that is being made from Auckland to England and Canada this week. It comprises 39,000 boxes, forming a fortnightly shipment. On Friday 70,000 boxes will be shipped by the Marama to Canada, and 011 Saturday the Corinna will sail from Onehunga with 20,000 boxes and 450 crates of choose for transhipment by the lonic at Wellington, to be delivered in London. The Mokoia will take 100 crates of cheese on Saturday for transhipment at Wellington into the Otaki, by which it will be carried to Bristol. This fortnight's export of butter establishes a new record, eclipsing the previous largest, which comprised 31.096 boxes and formed the last shipment in November. The record shipment of last season was 20,024 boxes. Butter shipments during the present season (from September 9 to December 20) have reached a total of 150,234 boxes, compared with 139,994 boxes during the period from September 1G to December 23 last year, an increase of 40,240 boxes, equivalent to 29 per cent.
