DUNEDIN WOOL SALES. By Oable-Presa Association-Copyright. HIGH PRICES. Dunedin, Last Night. The first of the local wool .ales wai held to-day, when there was the largest gathering of buyers ever seen here, representing British, ■ Continental and American purchasers, in addition to New Zealand buyers. The total offering comprised 8/21 bales. The condition of the wool was superior to that of last season, but a number of good clips were spoiled by old seed which cut out American competition and reduced prices by fully 2d per lb. Competition was extremely animated. The following is the range of pmes: Merino super, l-2d to 13a; medium to good, 10d to ll"/ 3 d ; inferior to heavy conditioned, Sy 2 d to OV.d: half ,bred super 13d to 14d; medium to good lOftd to 12% d; inferior, Od to lOdcrossbred super, 12d to 13% d, medium to good, fly a d to liy a d; inferior, BV.d to 9<l; pieces super, 10>/ s d to I2''/ 4 d; medium to good, B%d to K)d; inferior, CV a d to 8d; locks, 4d to 7d.
