The -Shop-Butchers' Union has decided jto give the legal week's notice, but the .men will not be open to re-engagement except on the understanding that the shops will close at six o'clock on Saturdays. The barrier to an agreement with the master butchers is the existence of small shops without employees If those refuse early closing it is probable that slaughtermen will take action to prevent these receiving supplies
