(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) At the Magistrate's Court, Inglewood, on Thursday, before Mr. Kenrick, S.M., judgment for plaintiffs was given by default in tho following cases: L. J. Lowe y. Alice R. Brown, claim £lO and costs, £1 3s fld; W. J. Thomason v. A. A. Cuthbertson, claim £lO and costs, £1 3s fid; A. M. Franklyn v. J. H. Dernchy, >lss 6d and costs, ss; William Slaughter (Inspector of Awards) v. L. W. Rolston, £2 and costs, l!)s fid (for a breach of the Taranaki tailors' award); K. P. Lawson v. Austin H. Paul, claim £4 7s and costs, 10s; J. S. S. Medley v. K. P. Lawson, £22 12s lOd (£2 15s); same v. Samuel J. Candish, £32 13s 6d ( £2 15s)'; C. 0. Hawke v. W. F. Dowman, £2 3s 5d (ss); Spurdlo Bros, and Allen v. W. F. Dowman, £2 14s Od (ss). MILITARY PROSECUTIONS. For failing to attend drill without reasonable cause, the following mentioned young men were convicted and fined:— John Schrader, £3 and costs, 7s; Robert L. Ward, £2 and costs, 7s; Verner H. Sine, £2 and costs, 7a; Norman F. Plough, £2 and costs, 7s; Geo. Middlemass, 2s Od; Frederick H. Buckthought, £3 and costs, 7s; George S. Miles, £2 and costs, 7s. Sergeant-Major Bouer, yho prosecuted, informed the Court that in some cases these youths simply ignored the Defence authorities, and he ;asked for heavy penalties.
