HAUROTO ON FIRE.

£BOO DAMAGE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. The Union Company's Island steamer Ifauroto has been .anchored in the stream for about two weeks. It was discovered to be on lire at 2.20 mis morning, but ' the outbreak was extinguished after three hours with the assistance of the crew of the tug Awhina. The fire apparently started in a cabin on the port side, and spread to the bridge. One lifeboat was destroyed. The damage is estimated at £BOO.
