SAFETY AT SEA.

A PEER'S STATEMENT. By Cable—Pnss Association—Copyright. London, December 9. Lord Muskerry, in the House of Lords, moved for an enquiry into the administration of tlie Marine Department of the Board of Trade. He accused the department of showing gross, almost criminal, neglect for the safety of life at sea, and said that vessels were allowed, to go to sea in an unseaworthy state and with dangerous deck loads. Lord Granard said he thought Lord Mersey's Titanic report did not support Lord Muskerry's strictures.
