WEATHER.
> SUMMARY AND FOREGAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Rev. D- C. Bates (Government Meteorologist) issued the following weather summarv and forecast at 5 p.m.:— The barometric pressure increased in the south during the night, and the winds have-moderated to-day. A westerly area of low pressure has existed to the westward of New Zealand during the last four days, and the very warm and hazy •weather in its front has continued. Conditions, however, were somewhat unsettled in the northernmost districts last night. Forecast: Present indications are for variable breezes, but northerly and •westerly prevailing, and freshening again soon. The present warm and hazy weather is likely to continue generally in the eastern * districts, but with more cloudiness and mist and fogs on the western coasts shortly. The barometer is unsteady, with a falling tendency.
