Jones beat Parke and Lowe 6—B, 6—3, o—4. Dixon and Beamish beat Rice and E.*L. Jones-9—.7, o—4. The play was again full of interest, although the winners of the tournament were already decided: Jones played confidently and cleverly. Dixon was very safe, and his heady placing and side shots were admirable. Britain won six rubbers, thirteen sets and. 1.23 games, and" New South Wales two rubbers, eight sets and 112 games, , Speaking at the dinner Mr. Colqu|houn, president of the Association, said that ' the rjiles of- international tennis fthould be revised. The question of^the venue of the Davis Cup was one of difficult. The suggestion t\aft it should be played for 'alternately in different countries was a good one. Mr. i)ixo:i declared that Alfred .Xmes played magnificently, and would be a worthy successor to Brookes.
The Waverley Tennis Club will iibe in town on Thursday for 'the purpose of playing a friendly match against the New Plymouth Club. . \
