TAKIKt. Own Correspondent. An interesting competition recently took place on the local rifle range, when the silver teapot, presented by Mr. R. J. Hancock, was shot for. The scores were: A. R. Thompson 185, C. Young, 175, L. Ellicott 109, 11. Rumball 155, B. Riley 170. The win was a, popular one. and* Mr. Thompson has notified his hv tention of celebrating the event by giving a small tea party to the other competitors, all of whom, as it happens, are also teetotallers.
Mr. Norman Waite, Scout-master of the Wanganui Boy Scouts, has written asking the School Committee .for permission to use the school grounds for camping purposes during the Christmas holidays. The committee have readily acquiesced to the request, and no doubt the Scouts .will receive a warm welcome.
Mr. H. Stratford has been paying a short visit, and Mrs. Lenahan, who has been staying with Mrs. A. E. Lawrence, has returned to Seddon.
