Compulsory training was now on an established footing. There was Btill a certain amount of resistance, hut amongst a diminishing minority. Hostility at training camps was also dying out.

LoTd Islington added that he was much impressed with New Zealand and its people. Few countries in the world equalled it in scenic grandeur. It was Buch a pleasant place that he was loath $o leave. The Maoris were wonderful in Itheir way.
