DAMAGES FOR LIBEL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. In the libel suit, Dr. 11. C. Barclay v. the Waimate Workers' Union and John Smith, president, claim for £SOO damages for animadversions on his treatment of a patient who came to the hospital with appendicitis and could not be admitted, a special jury of twelve gave, a verdict for £l5O and costs.
SLY GROG SELLING. Masterton, Friday
In the Court to-day, Thomas Lee, against whom there were three previous convictions, was charged with keeping liquor for sale. Ho was sentenced to one months' imprisonment.
TERRITORIAL CAMPS. Wellington, Friday. The Defence Department notifies the following fixtures for brigade camps:Wellington Infantry Brigade at Oringi, Monday, April 14," to Saturday, April 80; Mounted Brigade at Oringi, Monday, May 5, to Saturday, May 17.
