WANGANUI SITTINGS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Thursday. At the Supreme Court to-day William Merson was sentenced to one. year's imprisonment for embezzling £I7OO from the Public Works Department by altered vouchors. A SERIOUS OFFENCE.

In the Supreme Court, Patrick Alfred McGuire was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment, for carnal knowledge of a child under ten.
