REVENUE RETURNS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The Hon. Jus. Allen was entertained at a banquet at Tuapeka Mouth to-night. There was a large and enthusiastic gathering, and amongst those present was the Hon. Dr. Pomare. In the course of his speech Mr. Allen stated that the revenue for the eight months ended November 30, was £6,401,340, as against .£5,991,860 for the corresponding period last year. The increases were: Customs £53,490, stamps £«3,649, Post and Telegraph, £50,020; Land and Income Tax, £1381; beer duty, £1548; railways, £228,477; marine, £3175; territorial, £495. Decreases: Registration, £710; miscellaneous, £4477. For the year ended November 30 the revenue was £11,379,659, compared with £10,769,721 for 1911, an increase of £609,938. The following showed increases: Customs, £137,126; stamps, £38,099; Post and Telegraphs, £58,918; land and income tax, £89,380; railways, £275,442; marine £3841; miscellaneous, £22,249. Decreases: Beer dutv, £311; registration. £5864; territorial", £8842. The expenditure for the eight months ended November 30 was £6,435,800, as against £6,292.540 for the corresponding period of 1911.
