j ROBBERIES AT FEILDING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Feilding, Tuesday. There was a scries of burglaries here last night, About £5 was taken from the till at the railway station. Unsuccessful attempts were made with an axe to break into Carthow'e stationery store and Wells' grocery ' store. The 'burglar entered Darragh's grocerv store and took about £2 and left an axe. Suspects are being watched by the police.

MR. RHODES ENTERTAINED. Christeburch, Tuesday. The Hon. Mr. Rhodes was entertained by his constituents at Leeston last and presented with a gold paper knife Mr. Fisher and Dr. Pomare were also present, Mr. Rhodes, in a speech, -defended the appointment of Mr. Robertson to the Civil Service Board. MiFisher said next session the Government would legislate for pensions for invalids'
