[ SUMMARY AND FORECAST. ' By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following weather summary and forecast was issued by the Government Meteorologist at 5 p.m.:—Summary: For the past few days, except for a temporary improvement on Sunday, the weather has been generally unsettled. Rain lhas fallen at times, according to most leports, with variable and strong winds. Torecast: ' Present indications are for strong northerly and westerly winds, northwards of Cook Strait, and »outherly and south-easterly elsewhere, changing to > the south'' for a short time everywhere, after about sixteen hours. Rain is probable generally, *vith the rivers lugh and some snow on the higher levels in the south. The barometer is likely to rise everywhere shortly, but only temporarily in the south.
