Napier, Monday. The wool sales have opened. The market is exceptionally strong, with keen eompeliiioa from a full bunch of buyers. The catalogue totalled 13,795 bales, and very few lots were passed. The American competition for the better class stimulated the other buyers, and the sale was very strenuous. Evidence of this is furnishi"! by the fact that one consignment of ? bales, comprising nine lots, was put i lir(;!igh in 45 seconds, the price agrcgatin» £2500. The prices showed all round increases, averaging IVsd.
