PICTURESQUE SCENE. By Telegraph —Press Association. Auckland, Monday. Auckland yachtsmen made a splendid display on the harbor on Saturday afternoon by way of a send-off to Lord Islington, who was on the yacht Viking. 11.M.5. Torch greeted His Excellency with a salute of sixteen guns, after which 80 launches formed on the starboard, and GO yachts on the port side of the Governor's yacht. The fleet proceeded to Kohimarama and returned to the wharf, the Governor finally acknowledging the salute as each vessel passed. MESSAGE TO NEW ZEALAND. Auckland. Monday. Lord and Lady Islington, on their departure from New Zealand, bid farewell in the following terms: — "Lady Islington and I wish to send a Inst message of farewell to the Dominion of New Zealand, our home for the last two years and a-half. We hope this message may carry itself into those centres which we have not been able tc visit. Especially may it reach those who live in the remote baekblocks, foi whose work we entertain so mucii ad miration, and for whose life we feel s( much in sympathy. Tt is our earnes' hope that peace and prosperity ma? dwell among you all. We shall alway have kindly and happy recollections o i.ue people whose guests and hosts w r have been." ~ (Signed) ISLINGTON.
