FIRES.
| OUTBREAK OK A SCHOONER. By Telegraph—PressAssociation. Napier, Saturday. A fire occurred on the auxiliary schooner Kiritona last night. The outbreak is believed to have been due to the cargo of lime getting damp and igniting. Two cases of benzine were stored on deck, and these were removed [ with all speed. The fire was got under after considerable trouble. The cargo suffered from water, but the vessel was i undamaged. BOARDING-HOUSE DESTROYED. Wellington, Last Niaht. ) On Saturday evening a soventeen-room-ed boarding-house on Wellington Terrace was burned to the ground. The building was [owned by Mr. William King, of Auckland, and was occupied by Mrs. Florence McArthur, . fourteen or fifteen boarders all lost their belongings. The contents were insured for fSSO in the Guardian Office. The building is believed to be covered for £IOOO in the Sun Office.
