A I girl named Olive Russell, was passing j under the scaffolding at the time of tile J smash, and was struck on the head, bui j was not seriously injured, although she j is suffering from severe shock. ) NAPIER CHAMBER OF COM- ] MERCK Napier, Friday. 1 The Chamber of Commerce liars decided to present a gold medal to the High School and one to- the Technical College for an essay competition amongst the j scholars. A committee of the Chambei was set up to select the subjects. The Chamber decided to draw the attention of the Borough Council to the urgent nejcessity for re-valuation of the iVoroii"h. One member said that if Napier was, valued properly, it would have tile lowest rate of any place in the Dominion. He gave an instance of one pla/ie worth £ISOO, carrying a mortgage of £SOO. va- > lued at only £340.
