VETERANS' PENSIONS. By Telegraph— Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The Hon. F. M. B. Fisher was advised to-day by the Commissioner of Pensions that the first military pension under the Military Pensions Act passed last sessidn had been granted last, evening. Over one hundred forms were posted from the head office to intending applicants, and posters have been displayed on railway stations and at post offices throughout the Dominion, so that veterans can ascertain their position.
A CHARGE OP BIGAMY. Christchurch, Last Night. Cobledick, an elderly woman, wife of Wm. Cobeklick, inspector of works, was committed for trial to-day on a charge of bigamy.
TURBULENT TERRITORIALS. Masterton, Last Night. Sixteen out of twenty-eight Territorials who went on parade to-night marched out of the hall in protest against the appointment of a youthful Territorial to the position of lieutenant. There was a demonstration outside the hall against those who remained on parade, and stones were thrown on the roof of the building. The police arrived on the scene and quelled the disturbance. The matter is to be reported to headquarters, and it is likely that an enquiry will be held.
