CYCLING.
ROAD RACE. A race to Waitara and back was held yesterday afternoon, under the auspices of the Rovers Cycle Club. There were eleven starters, and a strong head wind was encountered on the return journey. Results:—A. May (7 min.), llir. Cmin. 40sec., 1; L. Smith (Imin.), llir. 2min. 30sec., 2; S. Beauchamp (srnin.), lhr. Cmin. 30sec., 3. L. Smith secures Mr. Robottom's trophy for the fastest time. The following is the position of the riders for the points cup:—May 0. L. Smith 5, G. Gunson 4, Beauchamp 4, Renner 3, Nippert 3, Lobb 2, J. Jury 2, Jones 2, Rowlands- 2, James 1, D, Roebuck 1, Tapp 1, White 1.
