WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Br Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office issued the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m.:—Summary: The barometer las risen in the south .and fallen slightly in the north. Considerable rain nas fallen, and cloudy and unsettled weather has been experienced generally. Strong northerly winds have predominated in the North Island, but variable winds in the south. Forecast: Present indications. are for cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain in many parts of the country, especially about Cook Strait. Strong northerly winds, veering by west to southerly northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and variable winds, with fioutherlies nredominating, elsewhere. The barometer will probably fall slightly in the north, but is due to rise everywhere soon, and cooler and finer weather •will follow.
