At the Broken Hill athletic carnival, McDonald, a New ZcaJamler, won his heats in the 75 and 220 yards events, but was beaten by Ilempic in the 130 yards. THE NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph—Pre a s Association. Wellington, Last Night. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held to-night. It was decided to notify the Centres that certain clubs were uiifmancial, and to request that they have no representation on the Centres until their subscriptions are paid.

The following officers were elected: President, Mr. A. Marryatt (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs. C. E. Bridge and J. C. Cusack; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. G. Talbot; lion, auditor, Mr. C. D. Morpeth; re-instatement committee, Messrs. W. P. Larkin, C. E. Bridge, and B. A. Guise. The New Zealand Championship meeting next year was allotted to "W'eUiii;, ton.

The Chairman said it had been practically decided to secure a visit • from several of America's champion athletes and it remained for the meeting to make final arrangements. About £3OO was required to iinance the tour, and the following guarantees had been received:— Wellington £6O and half the profits, Otago £SO, Masterton and Southland £3O each and half the profits. If a contract was entered into the men would arrive in Wellington about January 2nd. He said it must be understood that the tour would be under the auspices of the New Zealand Association, and that body only. It was not a matter for the Australasian Union. If the tour was extended tjj Australia it would be by express agrej ment with the New Zealand Associ# tion.

It was decided to cal)lc to Mr._Unm.iok and agree to the tour, provided the team comprises tlic following:—Horine (for preference) or Rose, Smithson, Maclure, a sprinter (not named), and Mr. Unmack as manager . A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. Marryatt, Bridge and Guise was appointed to arrange the details for the tour. Mr. Crouch (the retiring Otago delegate) promised a challenge shield jfor competition among the schools in New Zealand. W. H. Witaker (Invercargill) and Roy Fordham (Auckland) were granted reinstatement. It was decided to reinstate a number of athletes in Blenheim provided the club j becomes affiliated.
