The week's line weather left the wicket in fine run-getting order for Sat-' urday's cricket, when the third round of matches commenced in ideal weather. Sydenham put up a good total against the . strong East Christchurcli howling, but Kiccarton and West Christchurcli were both dismissed for comparatively small scores. Sydenham retained their advantage, but St. Albans failed to make runs against West Christchurcli, whilst Linwood have still one to get, with one wicket to fall against Eiccarton. Scores: Sydenham 230 (J. H, Bennett 71, F. Woods Of)) against East Christchurcli. 99 for six wickets; Riccarton, 101, v. Linwood, 100 for 0; West Christchurcli 14;> (E. E. Crawshaw 55 not out, and 23 runs for two wickets) v. St. Albans, 142. DIJXEDIX FIRST GRADE.
Dunedin, November 24. Beauiiful weather was experienced yesterday for the. first grade cricket matches. Carisbrook B met Dunedin, and the former compiled 117. Torrance l took four wickets for 31 runs, and Mackersey four for 30. Dunedin responded with 60. Ramsden was very destructive with the ball, taking six wickets for 15. In the second innings, Carisbrook lost two wickets for 43. Opoho met Carisbrook A. Batting first, Opoho made 140, of which Veteran' Callaway was responsible for 82. Carisbrook replied with 116 for six wickets (Bannerman, 43, is still in). WELLINGTON MATCHES.
Wellington, Yesterday. North met Petone, and batting first score 145. Petone replied with 103. The match will be continued next week. Central played Victoria College. Central ran up 172, and Victoria played out time, scoring 3G without losing a wicket. Wellington South treated Hutt to an afternoon's leather hunting, piling up 329 (Smith 74. Burton GO, Blenkinsop 42. Laws 39, and Walters 37). East B scored 102 to East A's 152. SATURDAY FIXTURES. The following are the second round fixtures for the Saturday competition: November 30.—New Plymouth v. Law, at Recreation Ground; Service v. Inglewood, y.t High School. December 7. —Law v.
