GROCERY STORE DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. Rolfe and Avison's grocery store in Cuba street was considerably damaged by a fire which broke out in the storeroom. The latter was destroyed, and the rest of the premises suffered by heat and smoke. The insurances were £I4OO. The premises of Mr. Burgess, dentist, a tenant, were slightly damaged. The insurance was £2OO. Rats are believed to have been the cause. A RESIDENCE BURST. Auckland, Monday. A six-roomed residence in Arney Road, Remuera, owned and occupied bv Lionel .Tacobsen, has been destroyed by fire The house was insured for £475 in the South British office and the furniture for £IOO in the London and Liverpool office and £2OO in the Ocean office.
