BOWLING.
THE SOUTH ISLAND TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The South Island bowling team returned to Wellington on Friday evening from their tour of the North, and on Saturday morning, some of the players went to the Hutt where a friendly game resulted in a win for the local club, who. (however, bad been reinforced by players from other clubs. On returning to 'the city the visitors were entertained at luncheon by the Wellington Centre, and in the afternoon a test match was played between the Southerners, representing the New Zealand Bowling Association', and eight rinks from the different Wellington clubs. Twenty-five heads were played instead of the customary twentyone, the Tesult being a win for Wellington by 204 points ,to 181. At the conclusion of the game Mr. Barnett, on behalf of .the visitors, thanked the Wellington players for their hospitality. The team left for Lyttelton in the evening by the. Mararoa,' They will play Christchurch on Monday.
