Paris, November 22. Through an oil explosion on the submarine Foucault, six of the crew were severely burnt.
DEGREES OF DIVINITY. Received 24, 5.5 p.m. London, November 23. The senate of the Cambridge University, by 435 to 326 votes, agreed to the throwing open of degrees of divinity to laymen and nonconformist ministers.
FORGERY AND COINING. London, November 23.
Duncan Brow (an engineer), Wm. Byrne (a bookmaker). John Watts (a printer) and George Wallace (an engineer), have besn committed for trial for forgery and coining.
CYCLONIC STORM. Bombay, November 23. A cyclonic storm caused great-damage to the harbor craft. Many natives we're drowned.
GERMAN NAVAL PROGRAMME. Berlin. November 23.
In 1015 the German Heet will consist of 30 battleships. 20 armored cruisers, and 37 protected cruisers.
A FOUNDRY ACCIDENT. Received 24. 5.5 p.m. London, November 23. Four men wen- killed at a Leeds foundry through " • capsizing of a cauldron of four tons of molten metal. BRITISH BY-ELECTION. London, November 24. A by-election in Bolton to fill the vacancy caused by Mr. Hardwood's death resulted as follows:—Taylor (Liberal) 10,001, Brooks (Unionist) 8835.
