Mr. C. Ahier and Miss Ahier sailed from London for New Plymouth on the Osterlev on October 11.
An. iJ. lluihl, at one time manngev of the local branch of the Union Steamship Company, is visiting New Plymouth.
Mr. .lolin Penny, who was the first chairman of the Eltliam Dairy Factory Company, died a few days ago in Auckland.
At Ingle wood on Wednesday Dr. Ilislop was presented with a gold mounted fountain pen as a mark of appreciation of his services by members of the local branch of St. John's Ambulance Association.
Mr. M. Free, of the New Plymouth Telegraph Department, who has been transferred to the Blenheim office,"was the recipient last evening, from meihbers of the New Plymouth Club, of a travelling rug. Mr. Free leaves by this morning's mail train for his new sphere of action.
Mr. James Henderson, of Dunsandel, who was injured in a motor-car accident on Wednesday, when returning from Banks Peninsula Show, at Little River, died at the Hospital to-night. Deceased was a prominent farmer, vice-president of the Canterbury A. and P. Association, and a member of the County and Hospital Boards.
