Mr. K. S. Pope. Secretary for Agriculture, is vi.-ithiy; i'aranaki with the Dairy Commissioner. At yesterday's meeting of the Hospital Board the resignation was accepted of Nurse Olive K. Baker, of the New Plymouth Hospital staff. Mr. A. M. Pileher, of the New Plymouth branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been advised of his transfer to the Stratford office of the bank. Messrs Williams (chairman) and C. P. Davy (ilie inventor) of the Davy-Rich-ardson non-veiillable bottle syndicate, who have been in 'Sydney for some months on a business will arrive hack in New Plymouth to-night. Mr. G. Y. Tate, who has been ill for some time past, ie .now- slowly recovering. In apologising for his absence at the Hospital Board meeting yesterday, he expressed the hope of being able to attend the next meeting of that body. Mr. 11. 10. Abraham: Who for the past four veaiw has been manager of Messrs. ■Vbraliam and Williams at Levin, has resigned his position with the firm in order to take over the management of Mr. Newton King's auctioneering business at Stratford. The lance squad who are to perform at the Central School Carnival to-day. and who have Imen (rained by Caption V V Rodgers. met at the Agricultural Hall yesterday and presented the Captain with :\ walking ,(iek as a tribute of their appreciation of the-manner in which lie had devoted his time and his attention to their training.
