BRITISH STATESMEN TO VISIT AUSTRALIA. London, November 18. Much interest is being evinced in the visit to Australia of statesmen and members of the House of Commons. The visit, if possible, will be made in 1913. The London branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association, who are arranging with the Australian branch, are taking steps to ensure the presence of some of the best known men at Westminster. ARREST OF A SPY. I London, November 18. ; George Charles Parrott, a dismissed ! gunner recently attached to the warship Pembroke, has been remanded at the Westminster Police Court. Evidence was given that accused was shadowed since July, owing to correspondence and telegrams. He was seen to meet a foreigner at Ostend and was arrested while fetching a letter from a tobacconist's shop in Chelsea. The letter contained £lO as travelling expenses, and the sender begged him to Inquire into the movements of the fleet.

The case involves 3,000,000 dollars of stocks sold in mining ventures. THE AUSTRIAN NAVY. London. November IS.
