LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. Yesterday's meeting of the Land Board was attended by the Crown Lands Commissioner (Mr. G. H. Bullard), in the chair, and Messrs J. Hislop, J. Rattenbury, and C. J. Ryan. SUB-LEASES. _ An application was received for reconsideration- of the proposal to sub-let sections 3, 5 and 10, block 14, Waro, 1301 acres, from C. M. Hawken to'R. and A. McMullianr It was stated that the sub-lease was practically merely the taking of grazing rights.—Action deferred till next meeting. A. G. Stewart applied to sublet one acre of section 39, Mock 6, Ngatimaru, to Derby Bros, for a sawmill site.—Approved. Francis McCarthy applied to sub-let section 18, block 15, Kaupokonui, 100 .acres, to L. Scott.—Approved. TRANSFERS. Transfers were approved as follows: Robert Wallace, jnnr., section 2, block 9, Totoro, 196 acres, to Robert Wallace; E. 'M. Richardson, section 5, block 8, Ohura, to H. K. Fagan and G. W. Tompkins. H. D. O'Donnell, sections 1 and 2, block 4, Mimi, 47 acres 1 rood 24 perches, to H. E. Collins, manager of adjoining property. H. Craven, about quarter of an acre of section 7, block 2, Heao, to J. Hanley, adjoining holder, in order to improve the latter's homestead site. C. Musker, part of section 14, block 2, North Waitara, to Taranaki Education Board. L. M. Nayzke, section 6, block 3, Mahoe, Gl4 acres, to Messrs Perry and McCartie, on account of ill-health.—Ap-proved, subject to Perry disposing of his sub-lease of a section containing 280 acres. E. W. and "VV. G, Wilson, section 1, block 3, Mahoc, to E. W. Wilson, owing to dissolution of partnership. Janet Eitlc, section 4, block 7, Warb, to J. and H. ITagonson —Approved, subject to evidence as to eligibility being supplied. E. Yandle, section 12, block 6, Ngatimaru, 200 acres, to W. Hanna. N. Duller, section 2, block 2, Heao, 9"i acres, 1 rood 18 perches, to W. J. Andrews, on account of ill-health.—Approv-ed, on production of medical certificate. F. Vickery and J. Vickery (deceased), section 1, Tikorangi Town Bolt, to F. Vickery and E. A. Vickery. L. J. Lloyd, section 9, block 3, Aria, to F. J. McLean. •J. H. Revel], section 92, Spotswood, to W. T. Cooper. . A. IT. T. Jones' application to subdivide and transfer part of sections 2308, 2309 and 2310, New Plymouth, to A. H. Kendal!, was approved. R. P. Coburn, holder of section 8, block 5, Aria, asked to be allowed to take his brother-in-law (D. Ansell) as a partner in the section.—Approved. The application of Albert Paulger to transfer section fi, block 11, Cape, 222 1 /, acres, to H. Turchi, was postponed for ranger's report. H. W. A. Thomson's application to take as partner A. S. Thomson (his brother) in section 26, block 13, Ohura, was approved. APPLICATIONS FOR FREEHOLD. Applications for freehold were approved as follows: — Donald Fraser, section 12, block 11, Mimi; N. P. Riekard, section 10, block 11, Mimi; Taranaki Education Board, part section 14, block 2, Upper Waitara, for school site. RANGERS' REPORTS. Ranger Tolme reported on 30 selections. There were seven defaulters, all of whom had been communicated with. Replies would be submitted in due course.—Rceeivi'd. Ranger Tvviss reported on 28 selections in Huinga settlement. There were five defaulters, all of whom had been communicated with, and their replies would be submitted when received.—The report was received, and in the course of a discussion it was pointed out that consideration was required as to the strict insistence upon statutory improvements in the case of farms which were fully improved, but had not had expended on them the money value required. As an outcome, it was decided that such cases should be treated on their merits. GENERAL. Application was made for a renewal of tiie lease of sections 7 and 4 of 189, Patca district, at present held by J. F. Pease. —The ranger was instructed to report, and Ranger Twiss appointed appraiser. A report was submitted on section 10, block 2. Aria, comprising 132 acres, held back from sale on account of timber. The land, which is suitable for dairying, is valued at £5 per acre.—lt was resolved to offer the land under part 3 of the Land Act, and to cut out an area in order to reserve the timber. Application was made by 0. Synies to lease section 7, block 15, Opaku. He already holds adjoining land.—Approved. A proposal to sell an acre adjoining section 8, block 11, Ngatimani. to O. McAloon, from whom it was originally taken for railway purposes, was considered.—lt was resolved to offer him the land at 45s an acre, plus the rental he would have paid had it been included in Ins lease. H. and G. Blank renewed their application for an improved fencing line on the boundary of section 9, block 11, Aria.— The application was approved, subject to the boundary being arranged by the Commissioner at the valuation of the ranger, and on payment of the cost of survey. The meeting days for 1913 were fixed for the third Thursday in each month. The Board then went into committee.
