A NOTORIOUS BANDIT.

The police at Czestoehowa attempted to arrest Koslowski, a notorious bandit, at the famous Paulist Monastery of Jasnagor, whore he was attempting to seize treasure. Koslowski took refuge in the Bastion, with a comrade, and threw bombs at a regiment of infantry and two squadrons of cavalry which had surrounded the monastery.' During a four hours' fight four were wounded. Finally the troops blew uu the Bastion, killing Koslowski. During the sieze. the monks and one thousand pilgrims were confined panicstricken in the church.
