The following weather summary and forecast was issued by the Government Meteorologist at 5 p.m.: Summary: Strong southerly winds have prevailed, with changeable weather, fair to cloudy conditions predominating. The barometer has been ■ unsteady, with a rising tendency. The Moeraki radiographs a fearing of 30.50 on the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Present indications are for .strong southerly winds, veering to eastr eriy. Cool and changeable weather is \ probable generally, with a rising barometer everywhere.
