NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, Sth inst., at my Waiwakailio yards, I had a good entry of cattle, with a fair attendance of the public. The demand throughout was good for all classes, with the exception of 15-months grade heifer-;, there being no enquiry for these. Prices realised were:—ls-months steers C2 13s to £3 3s fid, 15-rnonths heifers from £2 Os to £4, nice Jersev heifers £4 17s, bulls from £2 12s to £4 7s Cd, store cows (aged) £1 10s fid to £2 15a. good £4 2s'Cd to £4 lis, empty heifers (in demand) £4 17s to £5 Cs, springing heifers £5 3s to £B, springing cows up to £B. At my Ureuui yards on Monday, 11th inst., I had' a good yarding of cattle, including a good number of dairy heifers and cows. These sold very readily at advance ( rates. Competition was very good for store cows and empty heifers, with only a limited demand for yearling cattle. Good springing heifers sold at from £7 10s to £8 15s, late £5 5s to £6 10s, small £4 ss, best springing cows £8 to £ll 10s, aged £4 15s to £0 10s.

Yearling heifers and steers were penned in very big numbers, but were not enquired for, very few being cleared. Competition for empty heifers and good cows was very keen. A big number of bulls were yarded, those available for dairy purposes realising from £4 2s (id to £G ss, the balance being bought for the preserving works at prices ranging (according io weight) from £2 15s to £5 17s Gd. Several lines of 2% to 3-year steers were disposed of -it from £5 14s to £5 17s 6d, 2-year steers £4 14s. Other prices realised were:—Jersey 15-months heifers £4 Is to £4 12s, grades £2 19s to £3 10s, small £2 lis to £2 14s, 15-months steers from £3 Is to £3 6s and £3 13s for a few big Shorthorns; small fat cows £G, empty 2-year Jerscy-Holstein heifers £5 4s to £5 9s Gd, and for mixed grades from £4 2s (id to £4 15s, forward cows £4 12s to £5 os, good stores £3 9s to £4 ss, aged or small £1 17s to £2 15s. In the dairy yards best springing heifers realised from £0 12s Gd to £8 10s, others (small or poor) £4 10s to £5 15s, springing cows £8 to £9 12s Gd, aged £5 to £(> 12s (id. At Stony lliver on Wednesday I had a fair entry of cattle and a good number of buyers, who bought practically everything in the yards at the following rates: —ls-months Jersey-llolsteiu heifers from £4 2s Gd to £4 15s, smaller £3 12s fid to £3 19s, grades £2 14s to £3 7s Gd, 15-months steers £2 19s (id to £3 2s, dairy bulls £5 2s 6d to £7 2s (id, others £1 2s Od to £4 7s, 2-year steers £4 8s (id to £4 9s, empty 2-year llolstein heifers £O, grades £4 4s (id to £4 10s, fat cows £0 Is, aged store cows £2 2s Gd to £2 10s, good stores £3 17s to £4 15s, empty llolstein cows £5 Gs, springing heifers (best) up to £G 15s, small £4 to £5, slip pigs (for breeding) £1 7s to £1 17s, others 14s to £1 Is.
