East B made 158 for three wickets in their second innings (Bowles 40, WagstatT 50 not out, Hutchings, 42 not out). ; Central registered a two-point win against North. Central (first innings) made 135 (Little 32, McArdle 17, Naughton 40 not out). North went in.;for their second innings, securing 112 (Phillips 27, Lambert 17, Luckie 18, Wilson 22). Victoria College defeated Hutt by runs on the second innings. College their second innings, which yielded runs (Mcintosh 22, Dempsey 10 not out). Hutt (first innings) made 149 (Patten 83, Staples 14, Judd 13). East's aggregate totalled 245, and when Pctonc went to the wickets they required 147 rims to win. They just |cdl short of victory by five runs, fWis securing a three-point win. second innings, 138 (Tucker 48, Mio 20, Hickey 18). Petone, second innings, 142 (Brice 48, Rowley 27, Findlayson 27. Auckland, Saturday. - The third round of the Auckland Cricket Association's senior competition commenced to-day. The weather waa dull, necessitating stumps being drawn ' before 0 p.m. Results:— Grafton 303 (E. HorspOol not out 113, Sauvaiin 50, extras 20) v. North Shore (3 for no wickets). Dacre took four wickets for 47. Parnell 155 (Creijier 45, Bennett 37) v. Iden 75 for two wickets (Hemus 37, Taylor 23). For Eden Hall took four wickets for 40. and T. Mills four for 47. University S3 v. Ponsonby 147 for four wickets (C. Sneddon 30. Wilson not out 40). For Ponsonhv Woods took live wickets for 21, N. O. Sneddon three for 20. Christchurch, Saturday. St. Albans beat Riccarton on the first innings, declaring with 9 for 155. Riccarton were dismissed for 109, Sandman being the chief destructive agent. • West Christchurch, playing Sydenham,, declared with seven wickets down for 248. Thanks to Patterson and Hayes, Sydenham gained an unexpected win, scoring 258 for six wickets. Liinvood, playing East Christchurch, declared with four wickets down for 178. East Christchurch replied with 173 for seven, and the match was drawn.
