'. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. The following weather summary and forecast was issued by the Government Meteorologist at 5 p.m.:—Summary: The barometer has been very unsteady, and the weather changeable in all parts ol the country. A low pressure area is now lying off the East Cape, and southerly winds, strong to a gale, prevail. Forecast: Present' indications are for strong southerly winds, veering to southeasterly breezes, with showery and changeable conditions, but improving shortly. The barometer is unsteady at present, but has a rising tendency everywhere, and is likely to rise considerably in the next forty-eight hours.
