HOMING.
EASTERN FLYING CLUB. The New Plymouth East Flying Club llew their Champion interval race from' Auckland on the 9th inst. The birds were liberated by Mr. Coksill, secretary of the Auckland Flying Club. The weather proved hue during the early part of the morning, but rain set in" later, making a very hard race. Thirteen members competed, each flying one bird. ■ Results:—W. Bransgrove's No. 183, shr. 43min., vel. l&4oyds. per min., 1; L. Whitaker's No. 40, shr. 45min., 30sec., 2; B. Davy's Diamond, 6hr., 3; D. Forrest's Gold Lassie, Ghr. Omin. Gsec, 4. Mr. .W. Bransgrove will'now hold the champion cup until next year. The above race was followed by a yearling flock race from Johnsonville (an airline of 180 miles). This makes the twenty-fifth race flown this season. Fifty birds, representing twelve lofts, competed. Although the weather was unsuitable for fast times, the birds homed well, the places being:—H. J. Moverley's Patience, 6hr. 35min. (vel. 703), 1; F. A. James' Twenty, 6hr. 55min. 9sec., 2; W. Roch's No. 202, Ghr. 35min. 20see., 3; W. Bransgrove's No. 49, Ghr. 40min., 4.
