FALL OF ADRIANOPLE. ; AN UNCONFIRMED REPORT. , By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Belgrade, November 14. It is announced under reserve, that Adrianople has fallen into the hands of the Servians and Bulgarians. Constantinople, November 14. Since noon yesterday, wireless communication with Adrianople has ceased. There are rumors that Adrianople has fallen. BULGARIANS ADVANCING. Sofia, November 14. Private reports state that the Bulgarians pentrated the centre of Chataldja, and that their lines have occupied Hademkui. RESORTED CAPITULATION OF NAZIM PASHA. . Received 16, 1.15 a.m. London, November 15. Reuter has received a wireless message from Constantinople which states that unconfirmed reports are current that Nazim, Pasha has capitulated. HOSTILITIES ABANDONED. THE OCCUPATION OF CONSTANTINOPLE. AN OBSTACLE TO PEACE. Constantinople, November 14. The director of transport announces the cessation of hostilities. It is understood that the Porte is negotiating direct with Bulgaria, at Russia's instance. The Russian Embassy states that the only remaining obstacle to peace is Bulgaria's insistence on momentary occupation of Constantinople. The Porte declares that this is impossible while the Sultan is in residence, even if Bulgaria, as suggested, entered and left the same day. A BULGARIAN REPULSE. Constantinople, November 14. Commander Hamadich reports that a squadron shelled the Bulgarians at Chataldja at 7500 metres range. Heavy losses compelled the Bulgarians to retreat. SERVIAN CLAIMS. , RUSSIAN ADVICE. St. Petersburg, November 14. The press is supporting the Servians' demand for an Adriatic port. The Novoe Vremya issues a warning that if war is declared, a question will be raised similar to the Turkish one, Austria also being under the superannuated regime upheld by threadbare fictions. Russia has informed Servia that she should not go to war for the sake of a Servian port in the Adriatic. M. Sazanoff has expressed a wish for the departure of the Servian professor agitating the Servian claims in Russia.
MEDIATION SOUGHT. CONSULTING THE ALLIES. London, November 14. It is officially stated that Turkey has appealed to the Powers for mediation. Sofia, November 14. The Powers' representatives have informed M. Gueshoff that Che Porte's request for mediation asked what the Bulgarian terms were. M. Gueshoff replied that he would submit the request to the allies. ALBANIAN AUTONOMY. A DEMAND FOR FREEDOM. London, November 14. The Albanian National Party has protested against M. Pasic's accusations of Albanian outrages. The party alleges that the Servians are secretly murdering the Albanians, who will never consent to partition, and appeals to Europe to support their freedom. TURKISH OUTRAGES. HORRIBLE ATROCITIES. Athens, November 15. It is officially stated that the Turks at Janina are pillaging and burning the villages. The inhabitants are taking refuge in caves in the mountains.
Six thousand women and children are starving. Ten girls lit Denati Village were violated and impaled on .stake*, and their limbs were cut off. REFUGEES WRECKED. 200 LIVES LOST. London. November 14. . The Chronicle's Constantinople correspondent states time several sailing vessels, crowded with refugees, were wrecked during the storm. One foundered off the Asiatic coast, two hundred persons being drowned. THE GREAT POWERS. MR. ASQ LITE'S APPEAL. Paris, November 14. M. Poincare. in a speech, said that he was confident the crisis would be settled in a manner satisfactory to the Balkan States and the Great Powers. It did not seem possible that Mr. Asquith's appeal would be disregarded. SYMPATHY WITH THE ALLIES. THE METHODIST SYNOD. Dunedin, Friday. The Methodist Synod passed a motion rejoicing in the success of the Allies in Turkey, by a small majority, the Rev. Mr. Williams desiring his protest against the motion to be placed on record.
