MT. LYELL MINE.
ENQUIRY TO BE HELD. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Hobart, November 15. The Premier, commenting on the statement that the inquest on the cause of the North Lyell disaster was held up because it was impossible to obtain the bodies, says it has been decided to hold an immediate' enquiry. The jury has been ohosen on a novel plan. The superintendent of police at Zeehan will •elect 36 residents, of whom 1G will be . practical miners. The Premier and the Leader of the Opposition will choose seven of these, of whom three will be practical miners. The warden of the mines will be chairman. NO CHANGE AT THE MINE. A MIXER'S LUCK. Hobart, November 15. There is no change at the North Lyell > mine. The water is still going into the shaft, but in greatlv decreased quantities, owing to the last two days' fine weather.
James Berry, aged 19, who was among the first to escape from the mine, has died from pneumonia. Studwell, whose bodv is still at the 'sooft. level, won £IO,OOO in Tattersall's sweep on the Melbourne Cup. The prize has been forwarded to his relations, who live near Sydney.
