THE LIQUOR QUESTION.
To tlu> Editor. Sir,—l wish to correct an error that appeared in the Press Association report of the Presbyterian ftencral Assembly'» pronouncement on the three-fifth majority question. It is there stated that hitherto the .Assembly had supported the bare majority, and that 55 per cent. was now advocated because it would be easier to from Parliament. The words are, I presume, intended to be a report'of the remarks of the Rev. A. Miller, which w.'re as follows, according to the report iu the Dominion; "Hitherto. the Assembly had supported the threefifths majority, because it was not deemed wise l.> subscribe to the full temperance programme of the bare majority." The Assembly has now resolved in, favor of the 55 per cent, majority on the liquor question on both the national and local issues. The attitude of the Presbyterian Church on this question is not regression, but progression.—l am, etc., G. 11. ROSEVEARE.
