STRATFORD SHOW.

The aims of the Stratford A. and P. Association is to make the Stratford Show the premier dairy show of the Dominion, and there is every indication that this will be attained. Splendid entries are being received in the cattle classes for the forthcoming show. All the cattle classes are well endowed with 'prize i money, with the addition of special prizes and valuable trophies. The cattle section includes classes : for pedigree and .grade Jerseys, Ayrshires, Holsteins, Herefords and Shorthorns, also fat cattle, grade or crossbreds for beef, and grade or crossbreds for dairy purposes. A champion gold medal will be given for the best pedigree bull and the best pure- j bred cow in the pedigree sections. In class No. 104, "Pen of five best grade hei-, fers for dairy, calved since August 1, ,1011," the first prize is scheduled as given by the Ngaere Co-op. Dairy Co.. hut as the Ngaere Co.. will not be giving the prize this year, the Association will make the amount good. In the sheep section classes are scheduled for English Leicesters, Border Leicesters, Lincolns, Hampshires, Eomney Marshes, Shropshires, Southdowns, Cheviots, crossbred longwools, freezers, fat eheep and lambs. Since the inception of the -Stratford Show entries in the sheep elasses have steadily increased. A good entry is expected for pigs, classes providing for any variety of purebred pig, including Berkshires, Yorkshires and black Devons. Good competition should be forthcoming for the "best pen of three porkers between GOlbs and lOOIbs," "best pen of two pigs between 50 and 1501b5," and "best pen of three baconers."

Under the heading of dairy produce, prizes will be awarded for a box of butter suitable for export, imsalted butter also suitable for export, fresh salted butter in 21b rolls, butter in fancy designs, cheese, haras and bacon. The produce pavilion is now being nicely fitted up to display the produce exhibits to the best advantage. General entries close positively on the 21st inst.
