The following weather summary and forecast was issued by the Government Meteorologist at 5 p.m.:—Summary: Strong westerly winds have predomi- > nated, with fair to cloudy weather, show«ry on the west coast and in southe'rn parts of the South Island especially. The barometer has fallen everywhere. Forecast:, Present indications are for ' strong westerly to south-westerly winds, changeable and showery weather. The barometer is now unsteady, but will probably rise temporarily everywhere soon.
