The following weather summary and forecast was issued by the Government Meteorologist at 5 p.m.:—Summary: The winds have changed from the south, and northerlies and westerlies now predominate: The skies have become overcast, and rain is falling in parts. The barometric pressure has decreased, especially in the south. Forecast: Present indications are for westerly winds, strong to a gale, unsettled and cloudy weather, and rain is probable generally.
