THE LIVERPOOL CUP. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, November 8. The Liverpool Autumn Cup was won by Lorenzo, with Aprille second and Wolfhind third. THE V.R.C. MEETING. Received 9, 7.25 p.m. Flemiiigtoi), November 9. There was fine worm weather and a large attendance for the closing day of the V.R.C. spring meeting. The following are the results:—

Spring Handicap, of 300 sovs.; one mile ami a quarter.—Burrawang, 9.0, 1; Aurifer, 8.10, 2; Gladwyn, 8.7, 3. Rathlea, Uncle Matt, Charlatan and King Mostyn also started. The latter led for three-quarters of the way, Burrawang running last, but he moved up at the seven-furlong post, where Uncle Matt led. At the turn Burrawang came away and won by two lengths, with half a neck between second and third. Time, 2min. 7 1 / 4 sec. Flemington Stakes, of 300 sovs.; six furlongs.—Eubulus, 6.13, 1; Doregum, 7.1,1 2; St. Bess, 0.13, 3. Seventeen started.) Handicap, of 750 sovs.; one mile and three-quarters.—Lord Alwync, 8.1, 1; Bobadea, 8.1, 2; Cadonia, 8.13, 3. Eight started. Nangar led for a mile, but Bobadea led round the turn from Nangar, Lord Alwyne, Pearl King and Cadonia. Lord Alwyne took charge at the distance, and won by half a length, witlt Cadonia three-quarters of a length away. Time, 3min. 3%sec. ■ C.B. Fisher Plate, of 1000 sovs.; one mile and a half.—Cider, I; Eudorus, 2; Piastre, 3. Uncle Sam and Wolaway also started. Piastre led from Wolaway, Eudorus and Cider, for six\ furlongs, when Uncle Sam took command from Piastre, Eudorus, Wolawa and Cider. After rounding the turn they raced in line up the straight, Piastre looking the most likely to win. Uncle Sam nearly fell, and dropped back. Won by a head, with half a length between second and third. Time, 2min. 42% sec.

Victoria Steeplechase, of 500 sovs.; about three miles—United Kingdom, 10.3,1; Leah Kleshna, 11.7, 2; Linto, 10.8, 3. Bibbenluke, The Sun, Lycaon, Kula and Squirm also started. The winner led all the way. Kula fell. Won by three lengths, with two lengths between second and third. Time, 6min. 24% sec.

Final Handicap, of 400 sovs.; one mile and a quarter—Slipper, 1; Swagger, 2; Sandbath, 3. Twelve started. Elvanite mad 9 the early running, Swagger being last to the turn, Won by two lengths, with four lengths between second and third. Time, 2min. 6y 2 sec.

The Canterbury Jockey Club's metropolitan meeting was brought to a conclusion to-day in unsettled weather. Just before the second race a fairly heavy shower fell, and before the third race a fierce southerly squall sprang up, bring- . ing with it rain and hail. In spite of the bad weather £39,782 was put through the totalisator to-day, making £144,240 for the meeting, as against £137,583 at last year's meeting. The seven .days' racing during the carnival just closed produced £243,417 in totalisator investments, averaging £34,730 per day. AUCKLAND R.C. MEETING . CONCLUDING DAY. Auckland, Last Night.' The Auckland Racing Club's Spring meeting was concluded to-day in wet weather. The attendance was good. The totalisator turnover amounted to £25,839 as against £22,155 for the corresponding day last year. The total for the meeting was £44,583, an increase of £7099. Mulcahy, rider of The Chief, broke his collarbone, and Nodder and Tislley were also injured as a result of Sir Rupert and Atawahi falling.
